A Servant
Read: John 13:5
“Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
Jesus says these words to Peter, as Peter emphatically tells Jesus you
will not wash my feet. A basin, a towel, and tired, dusty feet, brought
Jesus to His knees as a servant. But why was Jesus so adamant about
washing His disciples feet? Jesus was showing his disciples that anyone
who followed him had to be willing to do the jobs no one else wanted to
do. Are you willing to follow the example Jesus set before us and get
down on your knees to serve those in need?
Prayer:
Loving God, thank you for the many opportunities to serve your
children. May I always serve with a joyous and grateful heart. Amen

The season of Lent is a journey in which we have
been given the opportunity to grow closer to God through Jesus Christ.
Each day, during these 40 days of Lent and though this e-devotion, you
are asked the question, “Jesus is...” As Lent is an opportunity for
sacrificial living and sacrificial giving, you are invited to click on
the donate now button on the bottom of this screen. By giving
sacrificially, your financial resources will enable us to continue to
provide healthy, nutritious food to our hungry brothers and sisters. May
this season of Lent challenge you to grow in your faith so that Easter
and the resurrection of Jesus might be the glorious celebration of a
risen Christ that lives within each of us. We wish for you a joyous and
blessed Easter. |
