Gleaning America's Fields ~ Feeding America's Hungry

Become a Covenant Church
Join with us to end hunger in America by feeding God's hungry children right here at home.
A Covenant Church commits first and foremost to pray on a continual basis for the Society of St. Andrew and those we serve

In addition to prayer, a Covenant Church commits to participate in at least one program from each of the three areas listed below.  This level of partnership in ministry serves to engage the entire congregation in addressing hunger in America.  Most importantly, the congregation not only will learn about hunger, but it will also make a real difference in people's lives.

Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
                                                                                                     1 John 3:18

To become a Covenant Church, commit to participate in at least one program from each area:

Food For The Body
Gleaning Network
Church members of all ages can volunteer to glean fresh produce in farm fields in their own communities then deliver the food to agencies to feed their hungry neighbors.
Potato & Produce Project
Sponsor a 40,000-pound load of potatoes for your members to bag for delivery to local agencies. You'll provide about 120,000 servings of food to hungry families.
Hunger Awareness Meal
Lead a Hunger Awareness Meal for your congregation, both adults and youth. It's a proven event that raises awareness of the reality and seriousness of hunger and empathy for those who don't get enough to eat.
Contribute to Meals for Millions
Your contributions in support of this United Methodist Men mission project will provide truck loads of food throughout the nation.
God's Word For The Spirit
Lent Devotions
Daily scripture and reflections guide readers through Lent to the cross. The program includes an optional Good Friday Fast and encourages participants to feed the hungry through their donations.
Advent Devotions
Daily devotions for the Advent Season written from the perspective of people of faith. These devotions help readers focus on the true meaning of Christmas and guides them to help others.
VBS Mission Project
Mission project designed to compliment any Vacation Bible School theme. Children can learn about hunger at a level they can understand. They also learn Jesus wants them to help feed the hungry.
Bible Study on Hunger
Take this 12 session course exploring what the Bible says about hunger. The study challenges participants to respond out of their faith in concrete ways to address hunger. Great for adult Sunday School classes.
