Area Gleaning Coordinator

SOCIETY OF ST. ANDREW - Florida

Title:

Pensacola / Panhandle Area Gleaning Coordinator

 

Basic Function: To aid the Society of St. Andrew staff in the expansion of the Gleaning Network through organizing and conducting gleaning events in the Pensacola / Panhandle region of the state. Area Coordinators are asked to organize a minimum of 4 gleanings per month, to locate/recruit new farmers and volunteers, and develop the network of receiving agencies.

 

The Society of St. Andrew (SoSA) is a non-profit hunger relief organization which seeks to salvage nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste & distribute this food to the hungry through food banks, relief agencies, and direct distribution.

 

Qualifications: The local Gleaning Coordinator should be a creative and highly motivated individual with excellent organization and communication skills and a “self-starter. Some physical labor when leading gleaning events can be expected.

 

Actual dates for this position may be adjusted based on actual growing/gleaning season.

Hours per week: approx 15-20.

Monthly Compensation: $500 plus mileage.

Southwest Florida Gleaning Coordinator

(Ft. Myers, Naples)

 

Basic Function: To aid the Society of St. Andrew staff in the expansion of the Gleaning Network through organizing and conducting gleaning events in the Ft. Myers / Naples region of the state. Area Coordinators are asked to organize a minimum of 4 gleanings per month, to locate/recruit new farmers and volunteers, and develop the network of receiving agencies.
