Hunger Facts
We have the means to end hunger. In fact, God has provided so
abundantly that there is enough food produced globally to make sure no one ever
goes hungry.
In the United States, for example, according to the USDA,
twenty-seven percent of all the food produced each year is lost at the retail,
consumer and food service levels. That turns out to be about nearly 1.5 tons of
food for every man, woman, and child in the United States who faces hunger. To
put it another way, we waste about 3,044 pounds of food per second in the United
States.

Globally, about 4.3 pounds of food are produced daily for every man, woman, and
child on the planet. That is enough food to make most people fat!
