United Methodist Church Resolution

During the 2008 General Conference of The United Methodist Church the following resolution was passed:

Be it resolved that The United Methodist Church commend the Society of St. Andrew, a national Christian hunger -relief ministry, as a partner organization with The United Methodist Church in the alleviation of hunger in the United States. Furthermore, we commend this partnership between local churches and the Society of St. Andrew thorugh volunteer service and gifts through the Advance Special.

Organizations We Work With

The Society of St. Andrew is dedicated to working with all people, churches, and other faith-based organizations as well as secular agencies and organizations who seek to end hunger in America.

The Bible makes clear that it is God's desire that no one ever goes hungry. God has given the world all the food and resources it needs to bring that desire into reality. Yet millions of people in America and hundreds of millions across the planet face hunger.

The Society of St. Andrew concentrates on alleviating hunger in America. To that end we work with a number of organizations across the nation. Some of them are listed here.

We provide food to more than 2,000 local food banks and other agencies that
serve the hungry across the United States
