Why Support the petition:

1. Jesus commands us in Matthew 25:35 to feed those who are hungry.
2. Fighting hunger is the responsibility of the Church
3. The United Methodist Church needs to be a leader in ending hunger in the U.S.
4. When the petition in passed the results will:
        A. Provide every United Methodist the opportunity to participate in hands-on hunger ministry.
         B.  Elevate the visibility of Society of St. Andrew hunger ministries in UM publications and web sites.
         C.  Develop a "critical mass" of people demanding an end to U.S. hunger.
5. No impact will be made on any other UMC agency budget.
6. Ending hunger in America is the first step to ending hunger globally.
7. More people will be fed in the name of Jesus Christ.
