Welcome to our site. The Western Headquarters of the Society of St. Andrew, aka SoSA West, is a faith-based anti-hunger nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger with fresh produce in states west of the Mississippi River. Please read on to find out more about our program and learn how you can help.

SoSA West opened its doors on May 15, 2008, in Kansas City, Missouri – our Gateway to the West. Our mission is simple: get produce that might otherwise be wasted to people who might otherwise go hungry.

We are looking to partner with farmers, growers and other produce handlers to salvage their culled and graded-out produce. We’re also looking for volunteers from church and civic groups to help us glean, package and move this produce. And finally, we’re looking to partner with churches whose outreach programs include efforts to feed impoverished and hungry people and who support programs that carry out this important mission.

More than 96 billion pounds of food is wasted every year in the United States, while more than 36 million Americans are at risk of hunger. You can help the Society of St. Andrew change these figures and end hunger in this country. Read on to find out how you can help.
