The Nashville Food Project serves hot meals, hope - October 23 in The Tennessean - SoSA is highlighted as a provider of food to The Nashville Food Project as the project uses a specially-designed truck to deliver prepared meals to needy people in city neighborhoods.
Gleaning a harvest - October 8 in the Lynchburg VA News & Advance - an extensive front page article on gleaning during the Apple Pickin' Jamboree. Depicts gleaning in the orchard, and follows apples to distribution, some of it as applesauce at the Salvation Army.
Fallen apples fill food bank pantries -  - Spartanburg Herald Journal, October 8, 2011 - The local paper showed up at Nivens Apple Farm in Moore, South Carolina to observe gleaning coordinated by the Rev. Ashley McCoy-Bruce, South Carolina program coordinator for SoSA. She was assisted by Maddie Batlas of Greer Relief - also a field leader for SoSA.
