West Virginia

The Society of St. Andrew has delivered nearly 3.3 million pounds of salvaged potatoes and other food to the needy in the state of West Virginia through the Potato Project.  This has resulted in about 9.9 million servings of food going to West Virginia's hungry.

Gleaning in West Virginia takes place year-round as long as the weather cooperates.   Most gleaning events take place on weekends where gleaners arrive in the fields around 8:00 a.m. and are on their way home by noon. The Society of St. Andrew's gleaning coordinator makes all arrangements with farmers and for produce containers and food distribution.
